I’VE GOT A J-O-B!

After days of traveling around Seoul looking for a ‘good’ job, I came across a job that was referred to me by a teacher working there. It’s located in Miguem, Bundang right under my nose. I really wanted a job in Seoul, but I realized that I can’t say no to a great school with a good staff and kids. Also, they provide very nice housing since it’s in Bundang, a suburb city that is only 15 years old, but I still do not have a place yet because the only apartment available was too small for me according to the school. There’s another teacher at the school that has a loft style apartment and she’s only 5 feet tall! So the school is being fair and extra helpful, even though the apartment room would of been ok because there all new and clean with a lot of sweet gadgets. More to come on my job, once I get my living situation figured out.

I’m leaving in a hour to meet my friend Yeon-hee Nuna to work-out at a gym near Garak Market. This will be the first time I get to exercise in Korea. I hope I don’t pass out.

I Made It

After a major mistake by myself in not having a required round trip ticket to enter the country by travel visa, I’d say everything went great on the plane rides. Everything was on time with a smooth ride. I’d like to give a little plug for Singapore Air and say that it’s flight from San Fransico (SFO) to Incheon (ICN) was top notch! Right now I’m staying with Erin in her super sweet place in Bundang, a suburb of Seoul. Her school really hooked her up on a place. I’ve got a lot to do though, make some calls, do some interviews, meet some friends, eat some kimchi, and watch the Chefs (ie. The Chiefs) play Denver on Monday night at 10am tomorrow morning. That should be an interesting experience. Wish me luck on my job search!

24-Hour Fatness

September 16, 2005 @ 12:26 pm | Listen to this post

There’s a 24 Hour Fitness promotion on the radio every three minutes. Well a couple days ago, I took advantage of it and brought in my Dannon Frusion Smoothie bottle and got 24 days free at the Metcalf location. I’m thinking of leaving for Korea next week, so I’ll be missing out on all 24 days, but anything is better then nothing. It’s a good deal, but I’d recommend that you come in at the beginning of the month, because they’ll tell you they can only get you 24 days within the month. That’s how they getcha!

Dave Matthews BandLast night I took my little sister to the Dave Matthews Band concert which was a surreal experience for me. 10 years ago, I was in her shoes listening to Under the Table and Dreaming which would be the beginning of a huge Dave following. Up to the Lillywhite Sessions, which would later be Busted Stuff, I attended 4 shows in 3 different cities in a short amount of time. To go to my 5th show after a 4 year hiatus was a very interesting experience. The eye candy was a little younger, the crowd was a little weaker, and I was a lot more sober. All in all, the band did give a high energy performance and I danced around like a fool. DMB did it’s job once again.
