Bad News Prayers

August 29, 2005 @ 2:03 am | Listen to this post

This Saturday was the make-up day for the Korean-American Society of Greater Kansas City Softball Tournament which was originally held on the 13th, but due to buckets of rainfall, they had to reschedule it two weeks later. This was my 3rd year playing with United Presbyterian after a year with the KMC Angels. Our team had two hard 1-run loses before the rain came, but on a hot summer day it wouldn’t get any better. We would lose our next 3 games by a wide margins. Other then that and dying from heat exhaustion, I had a great time. This could be last tournament for a long time.

Average Joe JoshTonight at the Peanut, I enjoyed a couple beers with Mr. Hollywood. My friend Josh from BVN/KU was in town after a stunning 4th place performance in the NBC Reality Show, The Average Joe. But Josh didn’t know that he would be cast in one of the worst reality shows ever. He told me that each contestant had a plasma TV promised to them with the completion of their contracts, but the show sucked so bad that they could not fit it in their budget in the end. If you ask me, my man Josh had the skills to pay da bills. Just look at what the rest of the world thought:

  • Let a great job in Korea slip away
  • Brother forgets to give me his baseball shoes
  • Lose first 2 games by 1 run in the tournament
  • Rain postpones the tournament until 2 weeks later

Big Talkr

Now that I am officially unemployed, I spend my time watching Aqua Teen and Home Movies while waiting for another teaching job to fall through. One accomplishment I did achieve this week was adding a web-service from Talkr.com that podcasts your blog entries. I found it comical to listen to my entries out loud and I’m all about making fun of myself. Also I gotta keep my illiterate fans happy. “Mail call! Frylock, letter for you! Meatwad… get a life!”

Hopping A Ride

Mr. CricketComing home from a team dinner at Rainbow, I found a little stranger on the top of my driver-side mirror stealing a ride while cruising at 45 mph. I thought I use my camera phone to capture it and share the moment. “I shall call you Flounder.”
